PASSPORTS

All passengers are fully responsible for ensuring that their travel documents including passports and visas are in order. Most countries require that your passport be valid for at least six months past the date of your scheduled return. Be sure your passport will be valid for this period or you may be denied entry into your destination country. Allow plenty of time to renew your passport if necessary.

The best source of information about obtaining or renewing your passport is directly from the U.S. Dept. of State website: http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html

SOUTH AFRICA: At the present time South Africa has the peculiar requirement of requiring two blank visa pages in your passport to be allowed entry into the country. These are the pages that say "Visa" at the top, not the blank pages at the back of the passport. Although enforcement of this is somewhat sporadic tourists have been sent home at their own expense if their passports did not satisfy this requirement. Airline agents who allow passengers to board a flight to South Africa without the two blank pages may be fined $10,000. If you do not have two blank pages in your passport you can have pages added free of charge by sending your passport to the passport office. Check this U.S. State Dept. link for details: http://travel.state.gov/passport/fri_extra.html Please allow several weeks for this.

VISAS

The following information will allow you to contact the authorities who can give you the most accurate and up to date information about visa requirements. Since these requirements can change at any time without notice you must confirm the requirements for travel to your chosen destination when you make your reservations. You can also check with your airline for information about visa requirements and other restrictions or conditions of travel.
