Caño Negro Natural Lodge
These amazing wetlands are located in the northern zone of Costa Rica, close to the small village of Los Chiles in the Province of Alajuela. Caño Negro is mainly conformed by the Caño Negro Lagoon and the Rio Frio. It has an extension of 9960 Hs, and it is one of the most important biological areas of the country and the four most important wetlands area in the world.
Cano Negro Wild Life Refuge was declared Wildlife Area of International Importance in 1991. This Costa Rica ecological treasure is the natural habitat of more than 350 species of birds, as well as the emerald basilisk, iguanas, river turtles, caimans and jaguars.
Rooms:
The lodge features 22 deluxe rooms, each with elegant furniture, air conditioning, a fan, and a complete bathroom. The rooms, ranging from single to four person accommodations, are surrounded by flowering plants, tropical palms, and fruit trees. In the morning, enjoy a complimentary breakfast and fresh Costa Rican coffee.

| How to get there: |
| From San José to Tilajari, take the Pan American Highway (Rt. # 1) west toward Puntarenas until the Naranjo Exit (50 kilometers). Drive north passing Zarcero, Ciudad Quesada until Florencia where you must take a right (north) and continue driving for 13 kilometers until the intersection at Muelle. At the intersection turn left (west). Tilajari Resort is 800 meters on the right side of the street. |
