Canyon Lodge Colorado River Rafting Class II-III
Depart from the hotel in a tractor wagon by 20 minutes until the border of the river where begin this tour that can be called private because any person can do it in ducky (kayak inflatable) where goes only you and your guide. Once in the river, the guides will give you the necessary instructions to enjoy the nature to the maximum. During 1½ to 2 hours you will have the opportunity to admire the beauties of the Canyon of the Colorado River with its impressive rock walls carved through thousands of years, Chorotega drawings, the amazing rapids and the scandal of two species of monkeys. It’s not much what you have to row; your guide will help you at any moment. Besides several backwaters and the Happy Monkey pool where the guides take the boats to the shore, the adventurers have opportunity to refreshing or jumping from the wall to the water.

This tour is class I and II in summer time and II and III in rainy season, very easy for any age. The trip ends at the base of our restaurant.

Canyon Lodge Horseback Riding Tour
The horse tour last 2 hours visiting the Guanacaste desert, Colorado River Canyon, pasture lands and the Dry Tropical Forest. There are some natural viewpoints where you will be able to enjoy the majestic Rincon de la Vieja Volcano, the blue greenish of Miravalles and Tenorio volcanoes and the spectacular Gulf of Papagayo. You will ride through rivers and gorges, you will be splashed when cross the rivers, you will follow the footpaths of the Agouties and Raccoons, you will be bothered by some insects, but you will be awesome with the wonderful landscapes that are humble on your feet.

You do not have to be an expert because we offer the appropriate horse for you. For people with experience, or children, we also have the right horse.

Canyon Lodge Canopy Tour
The Canopy Tour is mixed with footpaths, observation platforms and suspension bridges to obtain a unique experience to cause the tour worth it.

The Canopy structure is constructed with the best materials and is operated following all the security norms established; reason by which people all the ages can enjoy it excepting those that have heart troubles or osteoporosis.

The Canopy consists of 9 steel cables connected between leafy trees in where 14 platforms have been constructed. The passenger travels (fly) from one tree to another one with climbing harnesses, pulleys, safety slings and leather gloves. The expert guides will accompany you throughout the tour explaining the different aspects of the biodiversity of the forest and like an additional attraction; we have constructed 1 suspension bridge that will give greater emotion to the adventure.

The Canopy operates all year long 4 times a day. It has a total length of 3.320 feet’s with an average duration of 1:30.

Rincon de la Vieja National Park (Hiking into the Park) + Oropendola Waterfall Horseback Riding Tour
Take this excitement filled, day long expedition to the park, where you will have the opportunity to cross rivers, mountains and forests, pass through small towns in the area and explore the Rincon de la Vieja volcano. In the park you can admire its natural beauty. Then visit the Oropendola Waterfall: A 25 meter high waterfall with emerald-green water. A forest covered canyon surrounds it. It is 3 Km, from the hotel.

Rio Negro Tubing Adventure:
After a 45 minute horseback ride through the dry forest, we get to the changing rooms, where we can get ready to go tubing. After a short walk, we get to the base of La Victoria Waterfall, to receive a short safety briefing. Then each one gets his own personal round raft, to get his adrenalin pumping as he rides the white water rapids in the Rio Negro, for an hour and a half. Then we go to the changing rooms and get the horses to go back to the lodge.

Rincon de la Vieja - Crater Expedition
Take this excitement filled, day long expedition to the park, where you will have the opportunity to cross rivers, mountains and forests, pass through small towns in the area and explore the Rincon de la Vieja volcano. In the park you can admire its natural beauty and hike the vigurous trail to the crater or you can choose to go to the beautiful La Cangeja waterfall or the Blue lagoon.

Day Adventure Expedition
This half day expedition will take you to adventure of a life-time. Ride the zip lines, rappel, do a tarzan swing, try rock climbing. There’s too much to name them all. Live an extreme adrenalin rush.

Ecological Forest Expedition
Immerse yourself inside the primary forest and explore. See uncountable varieties of flora and fauna. You can even try to spot three different species of monkeys (spiders, howlers and white faced), toucans, coatis, morpho butterflies and many others.

The Waterfall
Enjoy an exciting ride up the mountain and through the plains with beautiful views of Guanacaste’s pacific coast. Take an invigorating hike and arrive at a Mystery and Hidden Waterfalls (approximately 30 and 15 meters high) and you will be able to discover its secrets.

The Canopy Tour
A unique experience. Start off with a horseback ride up to the first platform. Then, fly over the tree tops, zipping across the canyon and in front of the breathtaking Borinquen Waterfall. This is one of the most exciting and breath-taking experiences around. Adrenaline to the max!!
